Next gen formats help to reduce image file size

Windflower image file size is 416KB in JPEG format. Imagine having a few of these on your landing page and what experience would mobile user get with slower connection.

Try an experiment on Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers:

  1. Open developer tools by right click in the website and select "Inspect element"
  2. Select network tab
  3. Instead of "Online" select "Fast 3G"
  4. Reload the page and note the experience of a user using mobile device with a fast 3G connection
  5. Now try the same with the improved version
